Highlighting local parent groups
As you probably know by now, Briana-The Latchmaker and I host weekly meet ups for community building and infant feeding support. I also want to share some other parent support groups available locally.
Village Circle - Peer group support for all things postpartum. They will be meeting in person starting this month! Check out their instagram page for updates.
The Dad’s Space - In-person space for self-identifying fathers (and fathers-to-be) facilitated by Whatcom Co dads. Meeting every 3rd Monday of the month from 6:30-8pm at the Ferndale Fire Station #41.
Baby Open Play - Birth until walking. Held at Inner Child Studio, Wednesdays in March 1:30-3pm.
Postpartum Circle - A monthly group for folks in the first year of postpartum. Older kiddos welcome. With Katie and Marissa, both doulas. Meeting on the first Wednesday of the month from 9:30-11am at Bakerview Square Business Center, 410 W Bakerview Rd Suite 110 #136.
CALMA - Círculo de Alianza Latina para la Maternidad Acompañada (CALMA) parent support for Spanish speaking mothers. Meeting on the 3rd Wednesday from 11-12:30pm on Zoom. Te invitamos a nuestro grupo de mamás donde juntas navegamos las realidades de la nueva maternidad. Libre de costo.
EMBERcenter - One-on-one support with a peer provider of your choice. Join sessions via text, phone, or video chat as often as you want. Each session is about 30 minutes. Peer support providers are available in English and Spanish. To connect, call the Single Entry Access to Services (SEAS) Line at 360-715-7485.
Spring Scheduling
I have a lot of availability coming up, including for prenatal visits. These can be scheduled as soon as you’d like or as close to your due date as you feel comfortable going. We cover a lot of info and it is tailored to your individual needs, plus priority scheduling when your baby arrives!
As always, if you don’t see online appointment times that work for you, please call or text me because I almost always have extra time set aside during the week for emergencies and follow ups.

Baby Bistro with Essential Lactation & The Latchmaker
Baby Bistro is an informal infant feeding support group that meets the first 4 Tuesdays of each month. We are a drop in group from 11a-1p. Briana (The Latchmaker) or I will be there to facilitate each session and we will bring our scale with us so you can weigh your baby if you’d like to. We hope you come to one (or all!) of our groups and meet your people there!
